Grand Canyon is one of many places i want to see. Its on my travel bucket list. Last week we finally made it to Grand Canyon. As soon as i saw it, I was speechless, I cant contain my happiness, i was teary eyed, I got chills, its so beautiful just so WOW. I am so blessed to see this beautiful creation. It was really beautiful, how i wished camera can capture what eyes can see.
We traveled from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon, it was fours hours drive. It was all day travel but we only spent two hours in the south rim. Promise two hours is not enough to explore the place. We're on a group travel so we cant stay so long. If only just us, like driving our own car, then we probably stayed more hours and wait for the sunset. We still wanna go back there someday like driving our own car so we can stay as much as we can.
From mother point we went to Hermits Rest, and there there are many stops. We want to go explore in every stops but we dont have time, instead we skip those stops and went directly for the last stop. The shuttle arrived in the stops every 15 minutes and every stops there are a lot of people waiting, no guarantee that you can hop on on every shuttle.
Overall it was a memorable experience, i will never forget the day i first saw this Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon (Hopi: Ongtupqa;Yavapai: Wi:kaʼi:la, Navajo: Tsékooh Hatsoh, Spanish: Gran Cañón) is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River in Arizona, United States. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and attains a depth of over a mile (6,093 feet or 1,857 meters).
The canyon and adjacent rim are contained within Grand Canyon National Park, the Kaibab National Forest, Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, the Hualapai Indian Reservation, the Havasupai Indian Reservation and the Navajo Nation. President Theodore Roosevelt was a major proponent of preservation of the Grand Canyon area, and visited it on numerous occasions to hunt and enjoy the scenery.
Nearly two billion years of Earth's geological history have been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channels through layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted. While some aspects about the history of incision of the canyon are debated by geologists, several recent studies support the hypothesis that the Colorado River established its course through the area about 5 to 6 million years ago. Since that time, the Colorado River has driven the down-cutting of the tributaries and retreat of the cliffs, simultaneously deepening and widening the canyon.
For thousands of years, the area has been continuously inhabited by Native Americans, who built settlements within the canyon and its many caves. The Pueblo people considered the Grand Canyon a holy site, and made pilgrimages to it. The first European known to have viewed the Grand Canyon was García López de Cárdenas from Spain, who arrived in 1540. (Source)

Before we went to the park, we watch the 3D documentation in National Geographic Visitor Center about the grand canyon. I can say its a must when you visit there, to see the hidden things about grand canyon. The place you cant see above the hills. There are a lot of things going on below that formation.
On our way back, we saw a lot of reindeer! :) My first time to see a reindeer :)
Thank you to my husband for making this trip possible. He organized all, everything.
We went to hoover dam as well, so Hoover dam will be my next post! :)
